Free Pronunciation Software
I've talked about this before, but it really bears repeating. You can get great tools for working on pronunciation that cost absolutely nothing.
I'm not saying that pronunciation software that you pay for isn't good. Many of them are great, and if you can afford them, you should seriously look into using some of them.
However, if money is an issue, you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars buying software for pronunciation. You can do very nicely with free software and a little ingenuity.
The two tools that I recommend most are:
because they work on all computers (mac, pc, linux). With them you can do a wide range of practice. Develop a ton of different content and activities, and not worry about the cost, or if it will work on another computer.
As a teacher, you'll need to develop (or import) audio content of your own that can be used with these programs. Yep, that will take a little effort, but in the end you'll have your own library of really good content that matches very well with what and how you teach. No commercial program does that.
Take a look at these tools, you may have to learn a little, but you won't regret it.
Cheers,
Eric
